Business Membership

This membership type is open to any company, particularly to those in the mobile or e-waste (WEEE) and related industries. There are 2 main streams available: Non-technical and technical.

Membership Categories

Non-technical Stream

This stream includes companies or institutions essentially running non-technical activities and thus no repair or materials processing activity.

Technical Stream

This stream includes companies or institutions essentially running technical activities including any repair or materials processing.

ONE PERSON SMME

Available to any holder of a valid SAMDDRA non-technical certificate or ordinary membership, this authorization allows individuals to exclusively operate one kiosk/shop which closes when owner is absent. Application and annual membership fees are required.

Technical Stream

Repairs or materials processing permitted.

BRONZE LEVEL

For any company engaged in SAMDDRA related activities and employing more than one individual. Up to two kiosks or shops or branches per company may be accredited by SAMDDRA. Application and annual membership fees are required.

Repairs or materials processing not permitted. Requires continuous employment of at least one individual holding a valid SAMDDRA non-technical certificate or an ordinary member.

Technical Stream

Repairs or materials processing Permitted.Requires continuous employment of at least one individual holding a valid SAMDDRA non-technical certificate.

For any company engaged in SAMDDRA related activities. Up to 7 kiosks or shops or branches may be accredited by SAMDDRA. Application and annual membership fees are required.

For any company engaged in SAMDDRA related activities. Up to 40 kiosks or shops or branches may be accredited by SAMDDRA. any branch beyond the 15th will pay the equivalent of one SMME membership. Application and annual membership fees are required.

INSTITUTION LEVEL

For any company or organisation aligned to any SAMDDRA related activities and which does not operate any fee-paying mobile devices repairs, sales or materials processing services for the public. Application and annual membership fees are required.

Non-technical Stream

Mobile devices sales, repairs or any materials processing for customers not permitted. Essentially dealing with education, training, incubation, research and development, audit, accounting, Must employ at least one SAMDDRA member.

Technical Stream

Mobile devices sales, repairs or any materials processing for customers not permitted. Essentially dealing with education, training, incubation, research and development, audit, accounting, Must employ at least one SAMDDRA member.

Membership Benefits

SAMDDRA and its Members subscribe to the Consumer Protection Act (No 68, 2008) of the Republic of South Africa.

  • SAMDDRA plate to display at your qualifying kiosks/shops/branches. A kiosk/shop or a branch must employ at least one SAMDDRA member. Plate fee not included in membership fee.
  • Professional recognition, validation and status: it gives your company more credibility by belonging to a professional body.
