The Department of Higher Education and Training announced that Minister Buti Manamela would lead the handover of fully equipped cellphone repair containers to 25 beneficiaries of the W&RSETA SMME Development Programme in Sebokeng.
Implemented by W&RSETA with SAMDDRA, the programme combines three months of practical cellphone repair training, a monthly stipend and a business-ready workshop. The initiative is designed to help young people, women and persons with disabilities turn technical skills into sustainable livelihoods without the cost of commercial rental space.
The advisory highlights how collaboration between government, SETAs and industry can connect skills development with entrepreneurship, self-employment and economic participation.
